Ancient Egyptian Scorpion Goddess “Serket”

This painting depicts Serket, the ancient Egyptian scorpion goddess associated with protection and healing. Often portrayed with a scorpion upon her crown, she was believed to guard both the living and the dead.

A small craft hovers in the distant sky, reflecting a central theme within my practice: the possibility that many of the beings remembered as gods were not supernatural entities, but advanced visitors whose presence was gradually transformed into mythology. Rather than separating myth from history, my work explores the space where the two may overlap.

Serket forms part of an ongoing series dedicated to ancient civilizations, sacred landscapes and the figures who, according to the oldest traditions, shaped humanity’s earliest chapters.
